Explorer statistics

The Statistics widget computes descriptive statistics for a numeric field, optionally grouped. The statistics route is part of Data Explorer: Professional package only, and allowed before a license is activated. It is not in the Open Source package.

UI settings

  • Numeric value field
  • Optional group-by
  • Selectable stats: count, nulls, sum, min, max, mean, median, mode, range, stddev, variance, IQR, Q1, Q3, skewness, kurtosis
  • Overall row and sort options

Engine notes

  • PostgreSQL uses native PERCENTILE_CONT / MODE() WITHIN GROUP for quartiles and mode where available
  • Skewness and kurtosis (and some MySQL percentile/mode paths) are computed in application code from sampled values
  • Capability maps decide which statistics are offered per engine

Interactive Explorer remains officially optimized for PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB. Unsupported engines receive a clear unsupported response from Explorer APIs.
